Why Dubrovnik?
We had always planned to visit Dubrovnik. When considering the wedding at home the cost was becoming too much with my famly being very large and I was struggling to reduce the numbers. So we starting looking into a wedding abroad, and Dubrovnik looked beautiful. Not too far on the plane lots to see and lovely weather.
What were your feelings the morning of the wedding?
I felt quite nervous and excited at the same time. We went to Dubrovnik Palace hotel to get our hair styled and my makeup done. Since I hadn't had a hair trial I was a bit nervous on how it would turn out, but the girls in the hair dressers were amazing. My only problem was that I had no where to put my dress on, as the women at reception told me this would not be possible to use a room. Thankfully the hairdresser saved the day and took me past the women at reception to a private room where we got changed.

Was planning a wedding abroad more complicated than planning a wedding at home?
Definately not Nina was fantastic always returned emails with the simplest of questions never felt stressed during the planning.
What was the feedback you received on your wedding?
We had a thunderstorm break out an hour before the ceremony so our venue had to be changed at the last minute so I never knew where we were getting married until I arrived on the Island. All the guests said they were so frightened I was going to be upset. However when I walked into the old monastry with the peacocks shouting it was breathtaking. From then on everyone had an amazing time. It stoppped raining and the sun came out just in time for our drinks reception on the boat.
Did you go over your planned budget?
Went over our budget slightly but well worth it.
Do you think you would have spent more or less if you were to organise a wedding at home?
We would have spent more at home.
