Why Dubrovnik?
My oldest brother's friend suggested it a few days after we got engaged. He had just been to a wedding in Dubrovnik and he said it was one of the most beautiful places he had ever been. That got us on the road to take one of our best decisions ever.
What were your feelings the morning of the wedding?
I didn't feel very nervous at all... I was excited actually because I could not wait for Shane to see me.
Did you have a wedding theme / colour theme?
We had a romantic theme with beautiful pinks and whites roses.
Was planning a wedding abroad more complicated than planning a wedding at home?
It was the best decision I ever made, from the moment the day we started to time it ended. I never had to worry about anything. I remember before I left for Dubrovnik a good friend of mine told me to stop and look around and soak up these moments as the day will go by so quickly. I got to enjoy every minute of it.
What was the feedback you received on your wedding?
One of our guests put it so brilliantly "Its only a wedding you could dream about". Dubrovnik is a beautiful place actually pictures don't do it justice. There were so many highlights, the trip on the boat around the islands before the reception. The magnificent food and the five star service in the Hilton. The beautiful flowers and table set up that our planner had prepared for us. Everyone loved it.
Did you go over your planned budget?
No ... we didn't I found it actually easier to control. Dubrovnik Riviera Weddings sorts everything and give you the prices and you know up front how much everything is.
Do you think you would have spent more or less if you were to organise a wedding at home?
For sure I would have paid more. In Ireland and Australia its very expensive to have a wedding. We got so much value for our money. We also got the Sun, beautiful scenery, a champagne boat cruise, beautiful food, fantastic service and a fantastic wedding planner who we will never forget as she organized the best day of our lives.
