A wedding in Dubrovnik References from a wedding planner
Working with a wedding planner
means you have to put your trust in the hands of someone you
(most probably) do not know. I will try to convince you with
professionalism and knowledge of the local market, but maybe
our previous couples can help you make that final decision.
What our couples say...
David & Michelle (Australian), elopement civil ceremony on the city walls, dinner old town Dubrovnik
Dear Nina & Kristina
Thank you so much for organising a wonderful day for us. We have very fond memories of the day and of Dubrovnik. The location was beautiful, the ceremony exactly what we wanted and you even organised the weather perfectly.... (many thanks for the change in dates on the morning of our initially planned wedding day, the storm was so heavy the wedding would have had to take place indoors!)
After recovering from the shock our family and friends are really enjoying the photographs and we already have several framed and hanging in our new house. Please pass on our thanks to Tomislav for recording our special day so beautifully.
We particularly appreciate all the extra work you did, in arranging tours, accomodation, traditional Croatian hand embroidered bonbonnieres, and carrying tables... There is no way we could have orgainsed such a special day without your help and hard work.
Love and best wishes
David & Michelle
Jenny & Conor (Irish), religious ceremony St. Blaise, outdoors dinner overlooking the old town Dubrovnik
Hi Nina
Just wanted to say thanks again to you and Kristina for all your hard work, you exceeded our expectations, it was more than we had hoped for or imagined. We had a fantastic time and really enjoyed our day. I could go on and on to say how fantastic you were and how easy it was to communicate with you across the miles, but to put it simply, we couldn't have done it without YOU!!!!
As I said on the day, I'm glad that the other venue fell through, the views from the Terrace are second to none, it was such a beautiful setting and the professionalism of the staff was amazing. Thanks also for the fantastic honeymoon suite, we were blown away, we were waiting for a phone call or knock on the door to say that they had given us the wrong suite! Pure luxury, what a way to start your wedding day sitting on the balconly having breakfast overlooking the beautiful Old Town, memories I will treasure forever!
Martini Dry were just perfect, they really created a fantastic mood and atmosphere, my only regret is that we didn't announce that we weren't having a first dance, loads of people were dying to get up and dance but were waiting for us, my fault, but at least I changed that by having a first dance with one of Conor's female friends!.
Ivanka did a wonderful job looking after Jack, I was worried that he wouldn't stay with her on the day but she obviously has a way with kids, I don't think he even looked for me once! A few of our male guests also took a shine to her, admiring her but from a distance! Bobo Hair design were great, my hair and make up held up right until I hit the pillow at 3:15 am, can you please thank everyone mentioned as I don't have emails for them.
Can you please pass on a huge thank your photographer for the fantastic photos, they are truely amazing and really captured the essence of the day. I really enjoy taking photographs and for me photos represent a visual memory of life, so I was thrilled to bits with them. Everyone who sees them loves them and wants copies. The album itself is beautiful but the way that Tomas presented the photos and told the story of the day really makes it.
The size of the photos were really unique, usually they're 8 x 10 here so that really added to the appeal. We were also delighted that there are other amazing photos on the disc that didn't make it into the album so we have had great fun going through them all deciding which ones to get printed, I think we're up to about 200 at this stage, we should have invested in a blank second album while we were there! My sister and her financee are getting married next April and are not into photos at all and were not going to hire a photographer, but having col lected the album, they phoned us on honeymoon to tell us that the album was unbelievable, and in their words "we were nearly crying in the shop, he did such a fantastic job", they are now in the process of looking for a photograher and will use our album as a reference as to how they want their photos taken, so I think all credit goes to him for capturing our special day, he didn't miss a thing!!!
If you ever need any recommendations from us, please feel free to contact us at any time, we are indebted to you forever!!!!
All the best
Jenny & Conor
Chemaine & Paul (Irish), religious ceremony St. Ignatius church, dinner Nautica Dubrovnik
Hi Nina,
From the very first email I sent you, I knew our wedding was going to be nothing less than perfect! You were so helpful, obliging and friendly. No request was too big or too small. You answered every question I put to you and offered good advice, suggestions and alternatives. I have to say you are very professional and resourceful but more importantly very good with people and that showed immensely when we met you. You give the highest standard of service and all for a fair and reasonable price.
You only have to mention the word 'wedding' in most places and instantly prices are increased to the point where it is totally unreasonable, but not, I have to say in Dubrovnik. It is such a beautiful country, so the question is…why wouldn't anyone want to get married in Dubrovnik? It is a perfect setting for a wedding and all at a reasonable price.
We had a few hiccups before the wedding. The main one being, our civil paperwork going missing through the fault of our Post Office. A stressful few weeks that was and at one point I wondered would we be able to get married on our planned date in Dubrovnik at all. 50 people getting on a plane to come to our wedding, that might not even take place. Obviously at some stage you must have thought that it might not arrive on time but you kept us positive about it. But in fairness to you and Kristina you managed to convince the registrar to accept our paperwork a few days before the wedding, which having met the girl in the registrar office I know that, that would not have been an easy task for you. You went out of your way to sort that paperwork for us and also on your own time to pick it up when it arrived. If there is a problem you find a solution, and at the same time you keep as much stress from the bride and groom as possible. I can only imagine what you had to go through to sort that paperwork out for us and we are so grateful for that.
We had a couple of small problems after that. When we met you, you advised us that St. Blaise ( where we were supposed to get married) had been closed. You apologised for this even though it was not your fault and there was nothing you could do to change it. The solution was St. Ignatius Church. The steps up to the Church look steep, but be assured even in 3 ½ inch heels and with all the excitement of the ceremony ahead of you, you are up them before you know it! Besides they are impressive to look at and make for beautiful photos! But the real magic started when I entered the doors and the church was so beautifully lit up. The altar is absolutely stunning, and it just looked so romantic. Our guests were so impressed. Fr. Miroslav is such a nice man and so helpful, he even shut the doors so that people couldn't enter the church while our ceremony was taking place. It was just us and our guests and it made it so intimate and special. The ceremony was purely about us and the sacrament of marriage and Fr. Miroslav made sure that was respected. I feel all these things make a difference and everyone involved in organising and taking part in our wedding were very thoughtful . Our last little problem was our flowers, the ones I had ordered didn't arrive. You tried to contact me but couldn't get hold of me, so you made a decision on what other flowers to get and I have to say they were gorgeous( flowergirl's pomander a little too heavy though). You need to be able to just grasp the problem make a decision and find a solution and Nina you can certainly do that.
From St. Ignatius it was just a short walk through the old town, past St. Blaise, Sponza Palace to the old harbour for our boat trip, the stroll through the streets with such beautiful buildings just made the whole scene so romantic. The old town is so unique and special. Walking from Pile Gate down the stradun to the church was so surreal, it was like one long aisle. But people are so friendly, the clapping and taking photos of myself and bridal group enhanced such a wonderful atmosphere, it really added to it. The boat trip…..WOW! A surprise for our guests, they still haven't stopped talking about it and of course the icecreams went down really well. It prevented that lull in the day where guests tend to get a bit tired and bored! So it was a brilliant suggestion and we were thrilled with it.
Onto Nautika then for our meal and reception, what a breathtaking location. I cannot fault the food and service, and the chocolate cake absolutely divine. It broke my heart to leave the last bit of it there! The Manager and staff were very helpful and friendly, we even had free champagne and a free lunch for another day for the two of us!
Nina I have to say your contacts and suppliers are so professional and value for money. The dvd and photographs that were produced for me are of such an exceptional quality. You would pay three to four times as much for their work here in Ireland. I am so happy with the dvd, it is fantastic, so glad I got it. Again the photographs are amazing, they really show everyone in natural shots with all the great scenery of Dubrovnik in the background. I have so much praise for those guys, such nice and professional people. They said goodbye to myself and Paul at the end of the reception and apologising if they were in our faces too much and just said that it is their job. But I have to say they were so discreet in the job and the opposite, I don't think anyone really noticed them there. There were no forced poses etc and the photographer was looking for different ways to photograph us. He used everything around him to create a beautiful natural shot. He would have shot anything I asked him to. Anna ( my three year old) was refusing photographs at first and he told me to leave her and then when she was playing etc he would discreetly take a photo of her. And there are fabulous photos of her. The same for the dvd man, he just edited the dvd so well. I found it very emotional to watch the first time I saw it. I would recommend those guys to anyone.
As you said to us Nina, you only have one shot at creating the perfect wedding for a bride and groom and I can honestly say that you really did that for us. It was more then we had imagined. You and Kristina kept our whole wedding moving along nicely but at the same time none of the guests felt rushed. The atmosphere was very relaxed. The organisation was flawless. I will certainly be recommending you and your team to any future brides going to Dubrovnik.
I think that's all then Nina. Feel free to give my email address to future brides and grooms, although I will be changing it to Rea soon but I will let you know. I am truly going to miss your emails for sure. I wish you all the success in all your future weddings and I know you will make a perfect day for them just as you have for us. Memories for life you make and that's a precious job you have. So take care
Thanks for everything

Daan & Simone (Dutch), civil ceremony Sponza Palace, dinner at private villa
Dear Nina,
We want to thank you again for arranging the best day of our lives!
As soon as we had contact with you through e-mail, it immediately felt right. Our visit in November to check out Dubrovnik confirmed our feelings, but you've really exceeded our expectations during our wedding day. It really was as good as a fairy tail. In the morning it was quite exciting, due to the rough sea, but you immediately arranged a suitable boat for this kind of weather. The beautiful ceremony in Sponza Palace, the ice cream in the harbor, spending time on the incredible island Lokrum and finally preparing our dinner in the villa was absolutely fantastic! From early in the morning till the late hours at night, we've just been smiling and enjoying ourselves, aswell as our guests! You've arranged everything in detail and made sure this would become our perfect day. This is something both ourselves as our guests will always remember.
It's a big thing to ask our family and friends to take the week off and travel all the way from the Netherlands to Dubrovnik for our wedding, but everyone has enjoyed themselves big time.
Lot's of people want to have their wedding planned in every detail, such as decoration, dayplanning, photography, etc. We really didn't even think about these details, but you've guided great and had nice ideas. Budget wise, we had to make some difficult decisions, but again you've been very enthousiastic and flexible to help us stick to our (low) budget with good suggestions.
Because you think things through with all your experience, you can offer each couple the best day of their lives!
Once again, thank you so much for making this possible for us!
Daan & Simone.

Sue & Mark (British), civil wedding ceremony at the view point
Hi Nina and Kristina
Sadly we have arrived back in the UK to the cold and rain. We took off yesterday in those thunderstorms in the afternoon and for a few moments, I was convinced the Dubrovnik Courts would be issuing our death certificates as well as our marriage certificate in the same week!
We've just taken the wedding album to show my Mum and Dad and they are delighted with the results. Mark and I are really pleased too as the day was such a blur, it was hard to take everything in - especially the decorations and the arrangements at the Viewpoint. They look amazing. It was exactly what we wanted and far better than we could have imagined. Please pass on our thanks to the photographer, he's taken some really amazing and unique photographs. Far better than the usual posed formal photographs we would have got in the UK. You and your team did a fantastic job to deliver the wedding of our dreams.
I would also like to thank you for dealing with my Mum in such a kind and considerate way. She has asked me to pass on her appreciation and thanks to you both. Mark and I are extremely grateful for how you handled everything, including the Police. None of the family were aware that there had been any problems before the ceremony. It makes a great story to tell our friends and we had no doubt in your abilities to sort it all out.
We would be delighted to provide a reference or testimonial for any future clients, we are so happy with all that you did for us.
We look forward to hearing from you soon
Many thanks
Sue and Mark
Kelli and Stefan (Australians), vow renewal on the city walls
Hi Nina,
thank you so much for all you have done, the surprise was
a "surprise" until half an hour before the vow
renewal. I could not keep it for me any longer, Stefan was
already looking suspicious when I put on my nice dress...
You were great. Thanks so much for being the officiant, I
felt more confident allthough I must admit I was very nervous
(did you see my hands shaking?). If you would not have told
us we would never have guessed it was your "first time"
as well! :-)
Anyways, loved the bouquet and the surprise present and
certificate, but more so, loved the fact you organised a
professional photographer. The pictures of us on the city
walls are beautiful.
Kelli
