A historical building, located in a car free historical city centre, only few meters from the sea, the open atrium, getting married under the blue sky... these are the ingredients for an elegant wedding ceremony in Dubrovnik.
The Atrium of the palace is divinely formed with an
arched gallery spreading all around. This gallery has been incorporated
in many weddings to for example have a private photoshooting or
to throw the bouquet off down in the wedding crowd.
Today the Atrium of the Sponza palace is an art gallery always exhibiting
some interesting works from international artists.
This Palace can be used for wedding ceremonies and / or wedding dinners. When you combine the ceremony and the wedding dinner here, we organise the wedding day schedule in such a way that you have a seaside drinks reception, during which we can set up the palace for the evening.
We include the complete palace decoration in our prices, no need to worry about high flower or other unforseen costs. You know the exact cost of a sponza palace ceremony before booking.
This is one of the most attractive buildings in Dubrovnik with graceful arcades, intricate tracery on tall gothic windows on the floor above and square windows on the top storey. This was the Republic's custom house and later served as the mint. It was built in the period 1515-1522, in the transitional style from Gothic to Renaissance.

Did you know?
Sponza palace has a unique role during the special opening ceremony
of the Dubrovnik Summer Festival. Actors inpersonating the Rector
and the members of the Council Minor sit on the upper porch of the
Sponza palace and greet the actors that have come to the City to
entertain and amuse the public with their music shows and theatre
plays. After many skill demonstrations by the actors and a long
discussion from the side of the council, the ceremony always ends
as the Rector grants the actors free access to the City and gives
them the keys of the City in order for them to put up their shows
and entertain the public.
