The Dominican monastery complex is found in the old city center of Dubrovnik, closest to ploce gate and only a few steps away from the old port. This church represents one of the richest treasure-stores of Dubrovnik's cultural heritage. The interior of the church features a wealth of stone church furniture, a pulpit and Renaissance niches. The monastery has a library with more than 220 incunabula, as well as a very diverse archive housing valuable manuscripts and documents. There is a lovely courtyard attached to the church which is perfect for your wedding photo shoot.

The Church of St Blaise

Religion: Roman Catholic | Location: Dubrovnik old town

The Church of St Blaise is located on Luza Square, just opposite the sponza palace and also few meters away from the old port. This baroque church was built in 1715 on the site of an old Romanesque church. The church has a central dome, a large ornate portal and a wide staircase in front of the entrance. The interior of the church is opulently ornamented, the multicoloured marble altars particularly standing out. St Blaise has been Dubrovnik's patron saint and protector since the 10th century and his image is found carved in stone on many of Dubrovnik's fortifications, as well as above the city's gates.

The St. Ignatius Church

This is a wonderfully ornate Jesuit church, approached via a romantic baroque staircase modelled on the Spanish Steps in Rome (1738). This staircase makes an impressive arrival followed by an even more impressive church. Built between 1667 and 1725 by architect Ignazzio Pozzo, and like most Jesuit churches of the period was modelled on the Gesł in Rome, the mother church of the Jesuits.

The Cathedral Dubrovnik

Religion: Roman Catholic | Location: Dubrovnik old town

The Cathedral of the Assumption of the Virgin (Velika Gospa) in Dubrovnik is an imposing Baroque cathedral built after the 1667 earthquake. Inside are a number of important paintings (including one by Tatian) and an extensive treasury.
